The inland ice of Greenland contains enough
water to raise sea levels by 7 metres.
The laser installation “Thawshavn” indicates this level.

Tinganes, the headland in the middle of the harbour
of Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands,
has from the earliest times been the site
of elected assembly, where decisions on the
governing and organisation of Faroese society have
been made. This is still the case.

Behind the windows of the outermost building
sits the leader of the Faroese government.

The Faroe Islands have not yet in March 2008 signed
on to the Kyoto agreement, which aims
to reduce global warming.

“Thawshavn” is a warning light, reminding
us that no country is too small
to take responsibility.

Grønlands indlandsis indeholder vand nok til,
at hæve verdens havoverflade 7 meter.
